The Rubric Marine is a Majoris threat Chaos enemy that you will regularly fight in the Campaign and Operations.

Variations

Rubric Marine - Warpflamer

Rubric Marine - Warpflamer

These Rubric Marines are armed with a corrupted version of the Pyreblaster, which is currently a Campaign-exclusive weapon.

Warpflamer Rubric Marines have slightly lower range than the standard ones, but they can cover more of the area in front of them when attacking. These guys have more unblockable attacks.

Attacks and Abilities

Rubric Marine Abilities
Teleport Suddenly vanishes and reappears at a different location.
Snipe Prepares to fire 3 shots that knockback if hit.
Grenade Occasionally lobs a grenade at a location (Staggers).
Variant Bonus Abilities
Pyroblast Shoots out 3 AoE blasts in succession in a line. Similar to the shots of a Melta-Rifle.
Pyre Stomp Usually performs this from a Teleport. Does an unblockable stomp that causes an explosion.

How to Beat Rubric Marine

Headshots

Try and focus on headshots to quickly open up a marine to execution. Likewise, as you close the distance with Rubric Marines, whittle them down with headshots before finshing in melee.

Prioritize Plasma Weapons

Fully charged shots from a Plasma Incinerator and Plasma Pistol have proven to be the most effective at quickly taking down Rubric Marines.

Dispatch Warpflamers at Range

It's recommended that you engage these Rubric Marines from a distance, as a squad of them can quickly take you down if you are too close.
