Increase or Decrease Ascend Distance
The yellow reticule stands for your Ascend distance on landing. This reticle will follow under your aim's center.

To use the jetpack, you can either start with a Jump Pack Dash or aim with the yellow reticle and use Jump Pack Ascend. During the ascend state, you can then either go for a Ground Pound, or initiate a Hover (Hover is only available in Campaign or Eternal War).

Using the jetpack will cause one Ability Charge. You must wait for the charges to recover. In Operations, its recharge can be buffed by other class perks such as Zealous Blow.

Jump Pack Not Working and Issues

The Jump Pack, the Space Marine's jetpack, may not work as intended in certain circumstances. Here are some common issues with using the Jump Pack:

Unable to Ascend with the Jetpack

Unable to use Ascend with the jetpack. This can happen if the jetpack's yellow reticle is not appearing due to terrain constraints. To know when you can use it, make sure that the yellow reticle on the ground is present. You can adjust your aim to fix this.

Another case is knowing when you can use Ascend to get to higher ground. You will have to guess the reticle's location (check if you can see from the edge) and adjust your aim. One example is the upper level of the Imperial Guard campsite in Inferno of Operations.

Ground Pound Misdirects or Has Limited Aim

Ground Pound misdirection or limited aim while airborne. In some cases, you are unable to change directions for the Ground Pound. Causes for this are currently unknown.

Note that Ground Pound can snap to an enemy within its targeting reticule.

Jump Pack Ascend Not Working for Some Gaps

Jump Pack Ascend may sometimes be unable to cross gaps. This may be caused by invisible walls in level design. Unfortunately, you will have to remember where these walls are in each level.
