Keep Healing Your Allies

Story bosses start getting serious at this point. Even if you're team is at least lv25, Ultra Marine can still take a huge chunk off your HP with its attacks. Bring lots of Heal Pellets to this portal and try to keep your tanks healthy while they draw aggro.

Spam Dragon Attacks

One way to finish the fight against Ultra Marine quickly is to save three bars of the Dagger Gauge before you reach the boss. As soon as the battle starts, have your strongest ally monster use up all your Dagger Gauge charges on its Dragon Attack. These should deal enough damage to defeat the boss or leave it at critical health, at least.

Time Your Dodge From the Merciless Blade

The attack that you should watch out for the most is the Merciless Blade. Ultra Marine will charge up the attack while tracking its target's position, then releases a wave that deals massive damage. If the attack is locked-on to Erik/Mia, be sure to dodge to the sides as soon as the wave is released.

Ultra Marine Attack Patterns

Electroslash

Ultra Marine "swings" its weapon and deals Piercing damage. Despite its name, it doesn't deal Electricity damage.

Total War Cry

Ultra Marine lets out a war cry that deals Impact damage on a large area around it.

Midheal

Ultra Marine recovers some HP after cast. The recovered amount of health is nothing to worry about, fortunately.

Merciless Blade

The attack that you should look out for the most. Ultra Marine charges the attack and sends a wave that deals heavy Slash damage along its path.
