How to Find Treasure

How to Find Treasure

Select an Island to Start Treasure Hunting

Dragon Quest Treasures - Select Island For Treasure Hunting

Choose an island on where you'll want to start hunting for treasure. The list of destinations that you can visit will be located from the station at your base.

Purrsula and Porcus will provide a Treasure Forecast for all islands which will inform you what sort of goodies await you there!

Additionally, they will also show you the Golden Ratio for each island which indicates your current party's capabilities of finding treasure there. The higher the Golden Ratio, the better chances for you to find lots of treasure!

Search the Island for Treasure or Bric-a-Brac

Dragon Quest Treasures - Monsters Speech Bubble Treasure

Scout the island for hidden treasure, keep an eye out on your monsters as speech bubbles with treasure chest icons will pop out of your monster companions indicating there is a treasure nearby.

A Silver Treasure Chest Icon means a bric-a-brac has been detected while Gold Treasure Chest Icons indicates treasure within the vicinity.

Use the Fortune Finder to Locate Rare Treasure

Dragon Quest Treasures - Fortune Finder Dragon Dagger

Rare Treasure is harder to find than bric-a-brac and is usually found mostly in inaccessible locations. Erik and Mia can easily track them down by using Fortune Finder special ability. The Dragon Dagger which is acquired at the beginning of the game, allows them to use this ability.

When activated, this grants the siblings to use Treasure Visions which will show the exact location of where the treasure is hidden through the eyes of their monster companions.

Bring the Treasure Back to Your Base and Appraise It

Dragon Quest Treasures - Treasure Appraise

After looking for treasure, take the train back to your base. Alternatively, you can use an item called Chimaera Wing to instantly return to base from the island you're currently on.

Appraising treasure reveals the name, appearance, and value of the treasure you brought back with you. The value of a treasure will depend on its condition: mint, fine, or fair.
