Monsters can be recruited in Dragon Quest Treasures by scouting and defeating them in battle then hiring them at your base for a fee. Read on to follow a step by step process on how to scout and recruit monsters effectively!

How to Recruit Monsters

Defeat Monsters to Scout Them

Scouting
Upon defeating a monster in the field, there is a chance for the monster to be scouted. Defeat as many monsters as you can to aim for successful scouts.

Pay a Fee to Recruit Monsters

Recruitment Fee
Each monster will have a specific recruitment fee that needs to be paid in order to recruit them. This fee consists of items and materials you can gather from the world.

Some Monsters Come to Your Base on Their Own

Some Monsters Apply on their Own
If your reputation is high enough, some monsters will come to your base on their own and ask to join you. These events can happen when you collect more treasure and raise your ranks as treasure hunters.

No Monster Breeding Feature

There has been no official confirmation whether or not Dragon Quest Treasures will feature monster breeding, so it does not seem likely that you will be able to recruit monsters by breeding them.

Shoot Buddy Bullets

Scouting Chance Depends on Monster Rating

Monster Rarity
Scouting difficulty increases depending on the monster's rating. There are four ratings given to monsters: Rainbow, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The higher the rarity, the lower the scout success rate.
