Hornbull, Sentinel of the Sands is one of the Story Bosses in Dragon Quest Treasures. Read on to learn about its weaknesses and resistances, attack patterns, and tips and strategies on how to beat Hornbull, Sentinel of the Sands!
How to Beat Hornbull, Sentinel of the Sands

Lure It Towards the Pillars
Same as Proudmane, you can also lure Hornbull towards the pillars around the arena to stun it. Though, unlike Proudmane, you'll need to position yourself between the pillar and Hornbull then dodge to the sides to stun it.
Attack the Gem on Its Chest
Once Hornbull's stunned, unleash Erik/Mia's Wild Side and call your allies (by pressing the D-Pad down button) to attack the weakpoint together!
Use Water or Ice Attacks
While Hornbull is yet to be stunned, you can use Water and Ice Pellets (Splish and Crack Pellets) to exploit its Hornbull's weakness to these elements. The jars around the arena also contain Splish Pellets so be sure to pick these up!
Hornbull, Sentinel of the Sands Attack Patterns
Charge
Hornbull rushes forward in a straight line until it reaches a certain distance or hits a pillar. This is the only attack that can stun Hornbull upon hitting a pillar.
Burrow
Hornbull burrows to the ground and follows its target. It will resurface with an attack upon reaching its target or when it reaches a certain distance. You can avoid this attack by running to the other end of the arena or dodging right before Hornbull ascends.
Explosive Stomp
Hornbull stomps and creates several explosions from the ground around it. This attack is similar to Proudmane's dive attack, but without the plunge.
