The Old One is a resurected cosmic being that now serves the prince of hell, Ahzrak. Its grotesque design heavily resembles the Great Old One, Cthulhu, from the Cthulhu Mythos.
You’ll face The Old One during Chapter 22 while piloting the Atlan, making it feature unique a unique feel with mechanics not found in normal gameplay.

| The Old One, the fallen god of the Cosmic Realm, was resurrected by Prince Ahzrak's dark priests in a vile act of domination. Once revered as the Witch's deity, its revival bound her and it to Hell's eternal service. Yet, resurrection by Hell's hand carries a dreadful price-what returns is never the same. Stripped of chaotic divinity, the Old One rises now as a corrupted machine of terror bound in monstrous service to Hell's will, enslaved to darkness for all eternity. |

Watch Out for the Tentacle Portals on the Ground
When The Old One reaches around 50% health, it levitates in the middle of the arena while stars begin falling from above. These stars generate cosmic portal upon hitting the ground which summon tentacles that damage you. Keep an eye on the ground and avoid the red portals to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Get Out of the Charging Purple Area
At around 20% health, The Old One shifts into an ethereal form, becoming immune to damage, and starts charging a powerful area-of-effect attack. Immediately move out of the purple area to avoid taking a huge hit from the blast.

|---|---|
| Melee Strike | The Old One strikes with his astral mace. Dodge in any direction to avoid damage. |
| Melee Combo | The Old One strikes with his astral mace 3 consecutive times. Dodge all strikes in any direction. |
| Diving Thrust | The Old One levitates before diving forward toward the Slayer. Dodge to the side to avoid damage. |
| Diving Slam | The Old One levitates before slamming his mace to the ground, creating a tremor. Dodge backwards or to the side. |
| Astral Strike | The Old One will teleport to a different location while leaving an astral projection of itself. The projection will perform any attack before going away. Keep your eye on the projection and dodge its attack accordingly before returning focus to the original. |
| Astral Blast | The Old One will phase into an astral projection before charging and creating a large AoE blast. Dash out of the purple radius to avoid taking damage. |
| Tentacle Shot | The Old One raises its cybernetic arm before creating a portal in front that shoots out a long tentacle to attack. Dodge to the side to avoid damage. |
| Tentacle Rain | The Old One levitates before calling a rain of red lasers that create portals which summon tentacles once they touch the ground. The Old One will slam down to the ground, creating a shockwave. Avoid standing on the ground portals and dodge backward as The Old One slams down. |

The Old One Toy Location
Obtained at the Temple Grounds in Chapter 22: Reckoning
You'll obtain The Old One Toy Collectible by completing the demon portal encounter during the early parts of Chapter 22: Reckoning. Near the first Sentinel Shrine is a demon portal that you can use your Shield Charge on to start an encounter. Eliminating all the enemies unlocks a nearby gate that contains the Old One Toy collectible.
