Enemies can only be Faltered by using Melee Attacks, which require Charges. These Charges regenerate over time, and you can accelerate their recovery by successfully parrying enemy attacks.
It is important to know you cannot falter fodder demons such as Imps, Soldiers, and Zombies. However, the benefits of Damage Buildup, Executions, and Health Orbs still apply.

Melee Attacks are great for building up an enemy’s damage threshold, making it easier to Daze them. Every Melee Attack also delays enemy attacks for a moment, giving you more time to think about your next move. Once Dazed, you can follow up with an Execution or Glory Strike for more Health Orbs.

In addition to Health Orbs from successful Executions or Glory Strikes, simply hitting enemies with Melee Attacks will drop ammunition for all your equipped guns. This is great for ammunition management and encourages players to parry often since it can boost the recovery time of Melee Charges.
