How to Get Mana
There Is Currently No Mana System
As of writing, there is no mana system in the game. However, the existence of Mana Potions in Creative mode suggests that a proper mana system will be added soon.
Magic weapons such as the Flame Crystal Staff and Ice Crystal Staff do not consume anything when used, though the latter consumes stamina when performing charged attacks.
Rekindle Embers Grimoire Adds Necromancy
A new item in Update 2, Grimoire: Rekindle Embers, adds necromancy to the game and lets you raise up to five skeletal mobs as minions from bone piles.
Grimoire: Rekindle Embers is dropped by Burnt Skeleton Praetorians, which are commonly found in overworld encampments in the Emerald Wilds (Zone 1).
Mana and Spell System Will Be Added in the Future
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hypixel co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme said that the game will have a “proper mana and spell system in the future.” He also confirmed that the Grimoire is not part of the magic system.

Build and Upgrade Workbench

Before getting into Hytale's magic system, you must first build a Workbench, then upgrade it to Tier 2.
Crafting a Workbench only requires 4 Any Tree Log and 3 Any Stone. Upgrading the Workbench then requires 30 Copper Ingots, 20 Iron Ingots, and 20 Linen Scraps. All resources should be abundant in the Emerald Wilds (Zone 1) or the starter biome.
Craft an Arcanist's Workbench

Once you have the Workbench upgraded to Tier 2, craft an Arcanist's Workbench. This requires 10 Thorium Ingot, 30 Linen Scraps, and 20 Essence of the Void.
Thorium Ingots can be obtained from processing Thorium Ores, which are commonly found in desert biome cliffs. Essence of the Void, meanwhile, is dropped by Voidspawn mobs that appear at night.
Craft Arcane Items and Weapons
With the Arcanist's Workbench, you can craft arcane or magic items and weapons, includding Teleporters, Totems, and Crystal Staffs that shoot magic projectiles. These are mostly midgame items that require rarer materials gathered in exotic biomes.
