Update 2 Release Date
Pre-Release Available Now
The pre-release version of Update 2 was released on January 23, 2026, which already included numerous gameplay adjustments and fixes. Players can now apply this patch through the game launcher.
How to Apply Update 2 Pre-Release Patch
| 1 |  Open the Hytale launcher and open the Settings menu on the top left corner. |

| 2 |  Click the Patchline dropdown and choose pre-release. This will automatically download the pre-release version of Update 2 upon closing the Settings menu. |
Full Release Around January 24, 2026
According to an X post made on January 20, 2026 by Simon Collins La-flamme, the co-founder of Hypixel, we can expect Update 2 for Hytale to arrive this coming week, following its pre-release. Given that the previous update was released on a Saturday, January 17, we might expect the second one on January 24, 2026.
This update will bring new quality of life improvements, fixes, and features based on community feedback.

・New magic! Necromancy grimoire! Drops from Skeleton Praetorian, lets you raise up to 5 skeletal minions from bone piles (5-min duration or until summoner dies) ・Adamantite now requires a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe ・Pickaxe progression reworked: mining speed now scales with pickaxe quality ・Faster rail karts ・Tower exploit fixed (NPCs can now throw rocks at players) ・Buffed polar bears and multiple skeleton types ・All crops can now place produce in the world ・Missing decorative light blocks added to furniture bench ・Adjusted hide drops (Light → Medium for some NPCs like cows) ・Added permission for world map teleporting ・Magma Rhino Toad attack updates |
