Find and Activate the Heart of Orbis
Upon entering the Forgotten Temple, head north and interact with the stele in the central shrine to activate the Heart of Orbis.
Unlock Memories
Activating the Heart of Orbis in the Forgotten Temple will unlock Memories. This allows you to record copies of creatures in the Heart of Orbis in exchange of rewards. Make it a habit to visit the Forgotten Temple from time to time to record new Memories you've captured.
Buy Rare Itemss From the Rootling Merchant
While you're in the Forgotten Temple, visit the Rootling Merchant, who sells rare resources, cooking ingredients, and rare food recipes. Their inventory rotates every 3 in-game days, so be sure to check back every once in a while for new items to purchase.
Loot Rare Chests
In the area around the gateway to the Forgotten Temple, you can also find two chests that contain rare resources and items. Loot them whenever you explore a Forgotten Temple Gateway!

Emerald Wilds (Zone 1)
There are multiple Forgotten Temples in the world, but most seeds will have one near spawn in the Emerald Wilds or Zone 1. On your map, you can find the Forgotten Temple Gateway marked by a pinwheel icon. You will know you have found the temple entrance when you see a statue with a brazier lit with blue fire.
We recommend doing this first when you start your Exploration world. Craft at least a Crude Sword so you have something to defend yourself with, and stock up on Wild Berries for healing.
Enter the Gateway
Proceed through the entrance, head down the stairs behind the statue, and enter the blue gateway to enter the Forgotten Temple. You can also exit the area through the same gateway on the other side.
Note that the gateway into the Forgotten Temple is guarded by a golem; in the Emerald Wilds, it will be an Earthen Golem. You don't need to fight the golem to enter the gateway, as you can simply run behind it since it moves slowly and won’t follow you to the Forgotten Temple.
Devastated Lands (Zone 4)
There is another Forgotten Temple Gateway in the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). The temple is usually found in the forest and can be difficult to spot since it is partially hidden by the trees.
The gateway in this temple is guarded by an Ember Golem, a tougher golem boss that deals devastating damage, so be prepared when confronting it.
