Ores are materials that can be refined into Ingots and used to craft a variety of items in Hytale. Here's a list of all Ore types available in the game, where to find them, and how to use Ores!
List of Contents
Ores are obtained from their associated ore deposits and are mostly found in specific biomes called Zones. Higher-tier Ores can only be mined by higher-tier Pickaxes, so be sure to always upgrade your Pickaxe to gather better and rarer Ores!
| Material | How to Get |
|---|---|
Copper Ore
|
![]() Commonly found in the first or second layer inside caves in most biomes, including the Emerald Wilds where you first spawn. You can find cave entrances scattered around the area. |
Iron Ore |
![]() Can be found in most biomes, but is much more common in the desert biome or Howling Sands. Look for cave entrances around the desert, as these lead into expansive tunnel networks where Iron Ore deposits are clumped together. Can also be found on mining sites in the Howling Sands. Note that there are enemies guarding the area, so be prepared for combat. |
Thorium Ore |
![]() Commonly found on the side of the cliffs in desert biomes or Howling Sands. You can also find Thorium Ore deposits inside desert caves, though are easier to spot and obtain on the surface. Can also be found on mining sites in the Howling Sands. Note that there are enemies guarding the area, so be prepared for combat. |
Sapphire |
![]() Has a 100% chance to spawn from Gold Brick Piles in volcanic biomes. You can easily find it by looking for small golden blocks on the map. The surrounding area is filled with lava, so make sure to bring a Water Bucket. |
Emerald |
![]() Dropped by Earthen Golems, which can be found guarding the Forgotten Temple Gateway near spawn. Can also be mined from glowing green crystals. |
Gold Ore |
![]() Can be found on mountaintops in the cold biome. Look for a mountain with dark brown, green, and white blocks around the biome. |
Cobalt Ore |
![]() Can be found on mountains in the cold biome. Look for a mountain with dark brown, green, and white blocks around the biome. Can also be found on mining sites in the Howling Sands. Note that there are enemies guarding the area, so be prepared for combat. |
Adamantite Ore |
![]() Tons can be found in Cinder Wastes, a subregion of the Devastated Lands. Look for the volcanic biome and search for purple blocks near the ocean on the map to get to the area. |
Silver Ore |
![]() Can be found on mountaintops in the cold biome. Look for a mountain with dark brown, green, and white blocks around the biome. Silver Ore deposits also spawn in underground lakes beneath the cold biomes, but much harder to farm due to the depth of the cavern and the inability to breathe underwater. |
Diamond |
![]() Can be found in the deepest layers of caves near the magma layer in most biomes. Diamond deposits only appear in small veins. |
Ruby |
![]() Has a 100% chance to spawn from Gold Brick Piles in volcanic biomes. You can easily find it by looking for small golden blocks on the map. The surrounding area is filled with lava, so make sure to bring a Water Bucket. |
Topaz |
Can be found in caves underneath the volcanic biome. |

Though there are uses for Ores in their raw form, they are mainly used in crafting Ingots of the same type using a Furnace. These Ingots can then be used in crafting other items, like Tools, Weapons, and Armor.
This makes finding and gathering Ores an important part of a player's routine as they are crucial in the one's game progression and reaching the endgame.

I have found all of my silver ore in the same area as my gold and cobalt. So, snowy mountain tops needless to say you can still find it in chests of course.
