The Burnt Skeleton Praetorian is a boss found either in an overworld encampment or in the catacombs beneath the Burial Grounds in Hytale. Read on to learn how to beat the boss, where to find it, and what drops and rewards it offers.

Equip Copper or Iron Gear
Before facing the Burnt Skeleton Praetorian, make sure your weapons and armor should be at least copper or iron to withstand its attacks and deal effective damage.
Stock up on food and check that your ranged weapons are loaded, as being under-equipped can make the fight significantly harder.
Use Ranged Attacks
Using a shortbow or crossbow is advantageous in this fight, as you can deal damage from afar while the Burnt Skeleton Praetorian moves slowly toward you. It will occasionally use its shield to block your attacks, so time your shots carefully.
Staying at range also gives you a clear view of its Lunging Attack charging animation, allowing you to strafe sideways to avoid it or switch to your shield to block.
Take Out Summoned Skeletons
When the Burnt Skeleton Praetorian summons skeleton minions, prioritize defeating them immediately. Leaving them unchecked will make the fight more difficult, as they are nimble and will continuously harass you.
Fortunately, the Burnt Skeleton Praetorian moves slowly, so you can lure the skeletons away while keeping an eye out for its Lunging Attack.
Where to Find Burnt Skeleton Praetorian
Overworld Encampment in Emerald Wilds
The Burnt Skeleton Praetorian can be found in one of the overworld encampments within Emerald Wilds. Its arena is enclosed by stone walls, metal bars, and spikes, with braziers emitting green flames.
The exact location is randomized, so you will need to look for brown encampments on the map around Emerald Wilds.
Catacombs Beneath Burial Grounds in Emerald Wilds
The Burnt Skeleton Praetorian is found deep within the catacombs beneath the Burial Grounds in the Emerald Wilds. The catacombs are patrolled by undead mobs, and the boss rests at the center of the room filled with skeletal remains.
The exact location is randomized, so look for a circular gate with a mausoleum at the center on the map around the Emerald Wilds.

Lunging Attack
The Burnt Skeleton Praetorian can perform a Lunging Attack by charging briefly before dashing toward the player. It then immediately follows up with a Slash Attack.
Summon Skeletons
The Burnt Skeleton Praetorian can perform a summoning ritual by charging and releasing red energy from the ground, which spawns skeletons in the surrounding area.
Slash Attack
The Burnt Skeleton can perform a Slash Attack by swinging its sword toward the player.
