Hytale How to Get a Horse

You cannot tame a horse in Hytale at the moment. Learn how horses work as mounts, where to find them, and how to get them in this guide.

Horse Taming Is Not Available

Despite being rideable mounts, horses cannot currently be tamed in Hytale. There’s no way to permanently bind a horse to a player.

You can wall the horses off to keep them, but there's a chance of them despawning once you get far from them.

Sneak Behind a Horse and Mount It

You can easily sneak behind a horse by crouching and not making any other noises. Get close enough until you see the ride button appear on the screen.

It won't kick you off once you mount it and you can use it to travel around the world. You can use horses as mounts to travel faster across the map, making exploration much easier.

Lure Horses Using Carrots

Lure Horse With Carrots

Carrots will make horses come after you instead of running away. Hold some carrots and lure them in so you can ride them. Note that horses will run away after a few seconds of removing the carrots from your hand.

You can get carrots by planting its seeds on a tilled soil. You should be able to craft the seeds after upgrading the Farmer's Workbench to Tier 2.
