The Ancient Gateway and its Fragments are craftable items used for traveling to other realm fragments in Hytale. Learn how to get the Ancient Gateway, what it does, and see the list of usable Fragments in this guide!
What is the Ancient Gateway?

The Ancient Gateway is a portal device that can be crafted at an Arcanist's Workbench. To unlock the Ancient Gateway recipe, players must record 100 Memories in the Heart of Orbis at the Forgotten Temple.
The Ancient Gateway, along with a fragment, is used to summon a portal for traveling to the other realms of Orbis. You can craft just one gateway, as it can be used repeatedly with different key fragments.

Fragments are the keys required to activate the Ancient Gateway and summon a portal to a fragment realm. They are also crafted at an Arcanist's Workbench and unlock simultaneously with the Ancient Gateway.
Unlike crafted gateways, key fragments are used up every time you summon a portal.
In the current version of the game, players can only craft keys for Dragonspire Weald, The Dread Wade, and Windrider Valley. Silent Henges and Tal'Kesi Refuge currently cannot be crafted in the overworld and are exclusively obtainable via Creative Mode.

Craft an Ancient Gateway
Upon recording 100 Memories, the Ancient Gateway recipe in the Arcanist's Workbench will be automatically unlocked. Interact with the Arcanist's Workbench and craft one Ancient Gateway.
Craft a Fragment
Next, craft the key for the fragment realm you wish to travel to.
Summon a Portal
Afterwards, put down the Ancient Gateway in a clear space and interact with it to summon the portal. The crafted fragment must be in your inventory for it to work.
Enter the Portal
Finally, enter the portal once it has stabilized. Do note that this mechanic of the game is still a work in progress, so you might experience a brief black screen during the transition.
Once you arrive at the new realm, you will see a countdown timer of how long you can stay there at the upper right corner of your screen.
