How to Beat Frost Golem

The Frost Golem is a boss that guards the Forgotten Temple Gateway in the Whisperfrost Frontiers in Hytale. Read on to learn how to beat the Frost Golem, where to find it, and what drops and rewards it offers.

Equip Cobalt Gear

Snowy regions such as the Whisperfrost Frontiers have an abundance of Cobalt Ores, especially around the mountains. Take your time to upgrade your gear to Cobalt so you can both withstand attacks and deal solid damage against the Frost Golem.

For your weapon of choice, craft a Cobalt sword and shield. This combination is highly effective, allowing you to block the Frost Golem’s heavy attacks with the shield while counterattacking with the sword.

Take Out Other Mobs First

In addition to the Frost Golem, other mobs may spawn in the area. Prioritize eliminating them first to avoid getting overwhelmed before engaging the Frost Golem.

Use Ranged Attacks From Higher Ground

Before reaching the main floor via the staircase, stop at the landing and look for a side opening you can use as a vantage point for ranged attacks with shortbows or crossbows. Once your bow ability is charged, use it to knock back the Frost Golem if it gets too close.

Be careful not to move too far away while attacking from above, as the Frost Golem may return to its spawn area and begin regenerating health.

Forgotten Temple Gateway in Whisperfrost Frontiers

Frost Golem Location

The Frost Golem guards the Forgotten Temple Gateway in the Whisperfrost Frontiers. The temple is easy to spot in the open, as it resembles a small dome or cave-like entrance.

The exact location is randomized, so look for a circular area with dark gray edges on the map around the Whisperfrost Frontiers.

Spinning Attack

The Frost Golem can perform a spinning attack that inflicts multiple hits.

Overhead Strike

The Frost Golem can perform an Overhead Strike in two ways. It may swing both arms downward together, or raise a single arm to strike from above.

Punch Attack

The Frost Golem can perform a Punch Attack by swinging one arm straight toward the player.

Stomp Attack

The Frost Golem can perform a Stomp Attack by lifting one foot and slamming them down on the ground. This attack deals a small area damage around its foot.
