Hytale Is There Animal Breeding
Players cannot breed animals yet in the current version of Hytale. Find out alternatives to breeding animals and how to craft a Capture Crate in this guide!

Is There Animal Breeding?

No, You Cannot Breed Animals

Cow Poop

You cannot breed animals in the game. Currently, there is no feature that allows breeding or taming animals like horses. While certain interactions may cause animals to display hearts over them, nothing else happens, but this suggests the feature may be added in the future.

While you can't breed animals, you can still capture small animals and place them on a farm.

② Craft a Capture Crate
③ Press Left Click on a Small Animal

Craft a Farmer's Workbench

Craft Farmer

Item Requirements
Farmer's Workbench ・Any Tree Trunk x6
・Plant Fiber x20

First, craft a Farmer's Workbench using a Workbench. This requires 4 Any Tree Trunks and 3 Any Stone. These materials should be common enough to find in your surroundings.

Craft a Capture Crate

Capture Crate

Item Requirements
Capture Crate ・Any Wood x4
・Essence of Life x50

Using the Farmer’s Workbench, craft yourself a Capture Crate. This item requires 4 Any Wood and 50 Essence of Life.

Press Left Click on a Small Animal

Once you have a Capture Crate, equip it and approach a small animal such as a Chicken, Rabbit, or Pig, then press Left Click to capture it. To release your captured animal, simply press Left Click again.
