How to Get to Fort Gardhart

Head to West Greatgut Plains

Fort Gardhart Location

Fort Gardhart is tucked away in an isolated area surrounded by water in the heart of West Greatgut Plains. To reach it, fast travel to the Buffalo Base and head directly north.

A good way to tell you're getting close is the massive glowing barrier surrounding the entire fort. Just follow the barrier’s edge until you find the entrance.

How to Remove the Barrier

Clear All Shrines

Ba

To lift the barrier blocking Fort Gardhart, you’ll need to clear all Shrines scattered around the world.

Once you’ve done that, an on-screen message will appear saying that something has changed in Ginormosia , meaning the barrier is gone and the fort is now accessible.

Obtain the Crow Feather

Even after lowering the barrier, you’ll need the Crow Feather to unlock the fort’s entrance. This key item is obtained by progressing through the main quest in Chapter 7, so be sure to advance the story if you haven’t already.

Weaken the Final Boss

Before you tackle the final boss in Chapter 7, it’s worth clearing out Fort Gardhart first.

Doing so will actually weaken the final boss, since Fort Gardhart is deeply connected to its power. Less pain for you, more gain.

Farm Shadow Monsters

FANTASY LIFE i - Fort Gardhart Monsters

Once the barrier’s down, Fort Gardhart becomes the prime hunting ground for Shadow Monsters. These are the only enemies that spawn here, making it the best place to farm rare, post-game materials like Mysterious Slates and Dark Fire.

Stock up while you can, you’ll need these for high-tier crafting and late-game upgrades.
