Clear the enemies and obstacles first
Jump to avoid the dirt on the third corner Use the jumping platform near the end of the race
|
Before starting the race, it is recommended to clear the area of enemies and obstacles first without using the Car Mouth. Doing so helps you save around one or two seconds.
As you approach the third corner of the track, jump on the dirt road to avoid passing through it. Be sure to stay near the corners of the track as much as possible to save time.
You can also use the elevated platform near the finish line to save time. This allows you to run straight to the end of the race without having to avoid the dirt on the road.
Drop down on the ledge on the right
Break the cardboards to create shortcuts Jump in between the fence and streetlight
|
At the start of the race, you can jump down on the right side immediately as you climb up the slope. A good rule of thumb is to avoid the green coins throughout the race.
First Cardboard | Second Cardboard |
---|---|
Breaking the two cardboards creates a shortcut and also completes one of the stage's missions. If you fail to pass through the second cardboard, you may be unable to complete the race within 50 seconds.
You can also use a different shortcut after passing through the second cardboard as an alternative.
If going through the second cardboard is difficult, you can jump down from the third road after passing through the two jumping platforms.
After passing through the two cardboards, you can jump in between the fence and the streetlight as you drive up the slopes. Be sure to use Turbo Dash to hit the spinning brown enemies as you go through these shortcuts.
If you are unable to clear the two races, you can jump on the blue star to go back to the start of the race and try again.

Outside the Door | Inside the Door |
---|---|
The second Waddle Dee can be found inside the secret area just before the one star door. Use the Bomb ability to activate the switch to open the cage door.
Inside the secret area, use the Bomb to roll it towards the second switch. Doing so opens the cage leading to the Waddle Dee.
Climb the ladder in the area where the Waddle Dee is to collect the Invincible Candy at the top.
Before entering the three-star door, head right to go through the secret passage covered with grass and free the Waddle Dee inside.
The fourth Waddle Dee is the reward for clearing the second race within 50 seconds.
First Cardboard | Second Cardboard |
---|---|
You can find the two cardboard shortcuts in the middle of the second race. You need to drive through them to complete the mission and finish the race within 50 seconds.
The blueprint can be found inside a treasure chest after defeating the mid-boss, Wild Edge.
The first figure can be found in the block at the end of the two slopes in the second area.
You can find the second figure floating on top of the stall after picking up the blueprint. The secret passage leading to the third Waddle Dee can also be found in this area.
Blueprint Locations: How to Obtain All Blueprints
The third figure is the reward for clearing the second race within 1 minute and 30 seconds. Note that the figure will also appear if you complete the race within 50 seconds to rescue the fourth Waddle Dee.
