How to Farm Orichalcum
Clear Optional Objectives Starting at Chapter 5
All main quest and side quest missions starting from Chapter 5 of the story will reward you with Orichalcum once your clear their optional objectives. Do the required objective before the battle ends to get the Orichalcum.

Get More in New Game+
Getting all the Orichalcum from the first chapter up to the final mission won't be enough to unlock all the high-tier weapons in Weapon Development. However, you can still get more if you replay and finish all the quest missions in New Game+.
New Game Plus Guide: How to Unlock and What Carries Over
Can be Purchased from the Rank 5 Shop
Orichalcum will be available from the shop once it reaches Shop Rank 5. You can get one Orichalcum by paying 20000 G. Open the Shop > Items > Materials to see where you can buy the Orichalcum.
Where to Spend Orichalcum
Unlock Weapons via Weapon Development
Spend Orichalcum at the Institute to unlock the remaining Legendary (Gold) rarity weapons in the Weapon Development Tree. These weapons are more powerful than the ones in the Shop, but they are also more expensive than them.
Note: The weapons on the peak of the Weapon Tree require more Orichalcum to develop them. Plan or budget the Orichalcum you will get at the start of Chapter 5 to give all of your main characters great weapons before reaching the final stretch of the game.
