Things to Know | |
---|---|
|
The only difference between Casual, Normal, and Hard is the amount of damage you receive from enemies. On Casual, you receive considerably less damage from enemies, while on Hard mode, you receive more damage.
Apart from enemy damage, everything else stays the same throughout all difficulty settings. This includes EXP, SP, AP, and rewards received from missions.
Differences Between Difficulty Settings
DioField Chronicle features a real time strategy system that has you move and flow through combat easily.
Combat Basics |
---|
・Your Mission Info is located at the top right of the screen, and tells you what your next objective is. ・Use to zoom out of battle and get a complete view of the entire battlefield. You can also retry from a checkpoint here. ・Set Waypoints to make it easier for your troops to circle around obstacles and avoid danger, or get behind an enemy. ・Order all units to move at the same time with . This can be used to stop time and think of your next move. ・Attacking an enemy's back inflicts Ambush damage, which is more powerful than regular frontal damage, so always set up a pincer attack. ・Avoid getting hit by enemy skills by either moving out of the way or canceling their skill with a status effect like Freeze, Stun, Sleep, or Immobilised. |
Follow our detailed Combat Guide below for a more detailed explanation of the combat system, including various tips and tricks to achieve victory on the field!

How to Heal in Combat |
---|
Use Skills to Heal Units Use Potions for Single-Target Heals Use Goldhorne to Heal the Entire Party
|
There are various healing skills in-game like Hurried Heal and Heal for single-target heals, as well as AoE Heals like Convalescent Circle and Sanctuary which gradually heals allies over a period of time.
Consumables like Potions and Blended Potions can be used during combat to restore HP. Goldhorne is a Magilumic Orb obtained in Chapter 1 that heals your HP mid-battle.

How to Revive Allies |
---|
Use other units to revive them Use Renewal Potion Use Convalescent Circle
|
During the early stages of the game, the only way to revive incapacitated characters is to have one of your other characters approach them and rescue them. Another method to revive incapacitated characters is the usage of a Renewal Potion during combat.
Alternatively, if your party has a Magicker, they can use the Convalescent Circle skill to fill up the rescue gauges of downed allies within a large Area-of-Effect (AoE).
Status Effects are temporary ailments inflicted on units either through Skills or through Passive Abilities. There are various types of Status Effects ranging from slowing enemies down, inflicting damage-over-time debuffs, or even just preventing units from moving.
Status effects make fights go easier when used on enemies, but will make fights much harder for you. To remove status effects, you can either wait them out, or cure them with a spell.

Best Weapons For Each Character
Each class has its good and bad skills. Some are excellent at doing damage, others are great at controlling crowds and inflicting status effects. Follow our guide below to see a list of the best skills in the game.
Skill | Effect & Reason |
---|---|
Assassination | Best Finisher Skill Andrias' Assassination is easily his best skill as it bypasses its cooldown when used as a finisher against foes, allowing you to chain the skill should the enemies surrounding you have low enough health. |
Wings of the Storm | Best Crowd Control Skill Wings of the Storm makes Wyvern Riders worth having in your party as it can help you manage the positioning of enemy units with ease and set up strategies accordingly. |
Cyclone | Best DPS Skill Having a good base attack power, wide range, and excellent skill upgrades, Cyclone is considered the best DPS skill in the game, giving you another reason why you should have a Wyvern Rider in your team. |
Frostbind | Best Interruption Skill Frostbind is definitely the best skill to use in order to stop enemies from their tracks and ultimately cancel out their attacks. While there are other skills that can inflict the same effect like Stun, Frostbind inflicts Freeze them instead, which lasts 5 seconds longer than the former. |
Sanctuary | Best Healing Skill Considerably the best party-wide healing skill for its high recovery rate, as well as a guaranteed Tenacity buff upon upgrading. |
