The only difference between Casual, Normal, and Hard is the amount of damage you receive from enemies.

Casual Decreased enemy damage
Normal Standard enemy damage
Hard Increased enemy damage

Play on Casual Worry-Free

Apart from enemy damage, everything else stays the same on all difficulty settings. That means, the following will not be affected:

Players who prefer to take it easy on tactics games can certainly do so on Casual mode while still reaping the full benefits of gameplay.

How to Change the Difficulty

The DioField Chronicle - Difficulty Settings
To change the difficulty, enter the System menu, then head to Options. Changing the difficulty will be the very first option at the top. Here, you can also change other settings like game language and subtitles.

The difficulty level can be changed any time outside of battle. This means it can be changed via the Title Screen or when you're in the Elm camp in between missions. Difficulty cannot be changed during a fight.

Casual Recommended for players who aren't familiar with tactics games, or players who just wish to experience the story.
Normal Recommended for most players, and those who have had experience playing RPGs before. We recommend playing on this difficulty.
Hard Recommended for veterans of tactical RPGs, who want to make the most out of the deep combat system and push their tactical planning to the limits.
