Difficulty Settings Guide: Casual, Normal or Hard?
The only difference between difficulty settings in DioField Chronicle is the amount of damage you receive from enemies. Read on to see specifics on each difficulty, what factors stay the same on all settings, and difficulty level is for you!

What are the Differences Between Difficulty Settings?
Only Enemy Damage is Affected
The only difference between Casual, Normal, and Hard is the amount of damage you receive from enemies.

| Hard | Increased enemy damage |
Play on Casual Worry-Free
Apart from enemy damage, everything else stays the same on all difficulty settings. That means, the following will not be affected:
- EXP, SP, AP, and Gold earned
- Endings
- Secret Characters
- Trophies and Achievements
- Post Game Unlockables
Players who prefer to take it easy on tactics games can certainly do so on Casual mode while still reaping the full benefits of gameplay.
Difficulty Settings Explained
How to Change the Difficulty
To change the difficulty, enter the System menu, then head to Options. Changing the difficulty will be the very first option at the top. Here, you can also change other settings like game language and subtitles.
The difficulty level can be changed any time outside of battle. This means it can be changed via the Title Screen or when you're in the Elm camp in between missions. Difficulty cannot be changed during a fight.

| Casual | Recommended for players who aren't familiar with tactics games, or players who just wish to experience the story. |
|---|---|
| Normal | Recommended for most players, and those who have had experience playing RPGs before. We recommend playing on this difficulty. |
| Hard | Recommended for veterans of tactical RPGs, who want to make the most out of the deep combat system and push their tactical planning to the limits. |
