Fighting a Pale Widow is almost the same as the Giant Centipede. Their only difference would be that Pale Widows are stronger than the average Giant Centipede and slightly harder to deal with.
The best way to deal with a Pale Widow is to force them or wait for them to bury underground and lay down a Yrden Sign trap. When they raise from the ground to try and attack while in Yrden trap they will get stunned for a long duration allowing you to attack them multiple times.
It is essential that you attack their bellies since some of your sword attacks will bounce back when you attack them from behind.
You should use your Silver Sword and coat it with Insectoid oil to deal bonus damage to them. You can also prepare a Tawny Owl Potion since you are mostly going to use Signs against this monster.
