Dodge and counterattack to defeat The Ghostly Castle's boss in Princess Peach: Showtime! Read on for more details on how to defeat all Swordfighter level bosses and the reward you can get from beating them!
List of Contents
The Ghostly Knight boss will only be vulnerable after you're able to dodge its lance attack.
Once its ghostly body appears on the wall, it will prepare its charge attack. It will then fly back and lunge forward, popping out of the wall and attack with its lance.
Press A right as it charges towards Swordfighter Peach. This will make her jump on its head and stun the knight, giving you time to counterattack!
After stunning the boss, spam the B button to launch a flurry of counterattacks. One set of counterattacks will not defeat the boss, so you need to dodge and counterattack a couple of times.
After damaging the Ghostly Knight for the first time, it will make the stage smaller and your controls will change similar to the sidescrolling section of the level. It will then summon objects in the air and send them crashing to the ground.
To avoid this, run to the spot where there is no object in the air. You can also press Up and B to perform an aerial slash, which will destroy the object.
After damaging the boss for the second time, it will return to the wall and start summoning bats. Try to dodge the bats when they charge forward after they pop out from the wall, or use your sword to defeat them and earn some coins.
The Ghostly Castle: All Sparkle Gems, Ribbon, and Hidden Spot Locations
To damage the Armor Knight, you need to dodge its hammer attacks. Press A to avoid the shockwave from the hammer. Peach will jump over the boss and give you the chance to counterattack the boss!
Armor Knight, besides its gigantic hammer, is also wielding a shield. Because of this, Peach won't be able to damage the boss unless you can dodge its hammer attack.
At the beginning of the fight, the Grape Plant will summon vines that will occupy half of the level. Touching this will damage Peach, so keep your distance. You can also use your sword to cut away the vines and create more space.
The plant boss will also summon giant vine tentacles which will whip Peach when she gets near. Attack the tentacles to cut it and force the Grape Plant to appear onstage.
Once the plant boss appears, it will slam its spiny, bulbous head to the ground and send shockwaves. Press A to make Peach dodge this attack and leap towards the boss. Doing so will give you time to launch a counterattack with your sword!
The Castle of Thorns: All Sparkle Gems, Dress Ribbon, and Hidden Spot Locations
The King Knight will first use quick, swinging attacks at the start of the boss fight. Simply press A to dodge these attacks. Peach will leap on top of the boss' head and stun it, which gives you some time to attack with your sword.
Performing a counterattack will send the King Knight flying to the edge of the level.
The boss will then thrust its sword to the ground which will send shockwaves similar to the previous castle bosses. You also need to press A here to avoid the shockwaves from the attack.
For the King Knight's final attack, purple smoke will appear on the ground while the boss raises its sword. It will then charge sideways, which is the time to press A again to dodge it.
After dodging the boss' charge attack four times, King Knight will charge once again, but this time will attack right after Peach avoid the attack so you need to dodge twice quickly.
The Dark Swordfighter & the Arena Walkthrough
You can get the Swordfighter levels' final Sparkle Gems after defeating the bosses. You won't miss these Sparkle Gems as defeating the bosses are required to finish the level, so you'll be able to collect some even if you miss the other, more hidden Sparkle Gems.
