Controls Guide

Controls vary between each of the transformations in Princess Peach: Showtime! Read on to find out what each button does for each transformation and how to change controls!

Basic Controls

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Sparkle Ribbon	Press B.
Forward Attack	Press B while moving in a direction with L Stick.
Jump Attack	Press B after jumping with A.

These are the controls when Peach does not have an active transformation and can only use Stella and her ribbon attacks.

Peach Transformation Controls

Swordfighter Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Slash	Press B. You can press B two more times after for a 3-hit combo.
Forward Slash	Press B while moving in a direction with L Stick. You can press B three more times for a 4-hit combo while moving forward..
Jump Slash	Press B after jumping with A.
Dodge	Press A just as an enemy is about to attack you.
Counter	Press B after dodging with A to launch a counterattack.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Swordfighter Peach is the very first Peach transformation in the game in The Castle of Thorns level. She has a basic swordfighter action set involving directional slashes.

Dodging and counterattacking are only available for certain enemies such as bosses.

Patissiere Peach

Basic Controls

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Jumping and posing are the only controls for Patissiere Peach when she's not being used in a minigame during her levels. The action controls are different for each minigame.

Cookie Minigame Controls

Action
Start Baking	Press B in front of bowl.
Baking Cookies	Press B repeatedly.
Delivering Cookies	Press B while holding cookies next to cart.

Cake Minigame Controls

Action
Decorate Cake	Press B to place decoration. Hold B to continuously place decorations.
Finish Decorating	Hold A to finish decorating.

Patissiere Peach Guide

Ninja Peach Controls

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Wall Jump	Press A twice while facing a wall to start your wall jump. Press A again when you hit the other wall to continue your wall jump.
Kunai Slice / Sprint	Press B.
Jump Attack	Press B after jumping with A. This action can also help you get to hard-to-reach places.
Hide	Use the L Stick to go to a hiding spot (see below). Ninja Peach should automatically disguise herself.
Wall Run	Press A when a floor-like surface appears on the wall.
Controlling the Wave	Press and hold A to move up. Release A to go back down.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Ninja Peach's Kunai Slice launches a sneak attack when used on enemies. If no enemies are present, it can be used to dash.

The wall run and controlling the wave actions only come into play during special segments of the level. They are not part of Ninja Peach's basic controls.

Grass Disguise

Ninja Peach also has a variety of disguises and hiding techniques that automatically activate when you're in the right area.

Use the L Stick to move to a patch of grass in order for Ninja Peach to automatically disguise herself by holding up a bunch of leaves.

Wall Hide Technique

Push up on the L Stick until you're against the wall. Ninja Peach should automatically disguise herself by holding up a rectangular object that reflects the wall behind her.

If Peach isn't disguising herself, either you haven't pushed up far enough or you're in an area where Peach may not be able to disguise herself. In that case, try this technique again in a different area.

Underwater Technique

When in water, Ninja Peach should automatically hide and use a piece of bamboo as a snorkel. Don't be afraid to use the L Stick to get into water.

Cowgirl Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher. Also works on horseback.
Lasso	Press B to throw your lasso. Press B again to throw an object you've grabbed. Also works on horseback.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

The jump and lasso Cowgirl Peach controls can be used both on foot and on horseback.

Detective Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Investigate	Press and hold B. Release B in front of objects with an exclamation point (!).
Strike of Intuition	Press and hold B while investigating an object or character. Incorrect suspicions may result in a loss of hearts.
Talk	Press A or B to talk to any witnesses or surspects.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Detective Peach's actions mainly involve investigating clues. Make sure to only use your Strike of Intuition on objects and characters that will be helpful to your case. Otherwise, you'll lose a heart.

Figure Skater Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump.
Spin	Press B.
Spin Jump	Press B after jumping with A.
Jump (Performance)	Press A while on the yellow marker.
Spin (Performance)	Press B while on the blue marker.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Dazzle the audience with Figure Skater Peach's many spins and jumps. A special jump and spin are reserved for the performance scenes in her levels.

Dashing Thief Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Hookshot	Press B to launch your grappling hook. You can aim using the L Stick.
Swing from Hook	Move the L Stick back and forth to increase the momentum of your swings. Press A when you're ready to jump off.
Slide Down Pole	Move the L Stick downward while in front of a pole to go down. You can also climb back up by titling the L Stick upward.
Disable Lock	Press B while in front of a lock sign.
Glider	Move up and down using the L Stick.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Dashing Thief Peach mainly uses her grappling hook to perform a variety of actions, but the B button can also be used to disable locks if Dashing Thief Peach is placed correctly.

Mermaid Peach

Basic Controls

Action
Sing	Press and hold B to sing. This will get the attention of nearby fish.
Control Fish	While holding B, move the L Stick to control the fish's movements. Fish can lift up clam shells to open them and move other objects.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Concert Minigame Controls

During the concert in the Mermaid Peach level minigame, hold down the B button and tilt the L Stick to where the incoming fish are. This minigame is similar to a rhythm game where you try to hit all the notes (fish) following the rhythm of the music.

For longer fish, make sure you keep on holding the B button and the L Stick in the correct direction until you reach the fish's tail. It's safe to let go once this fish turns into a music note.

Mighty Peach

Basic Controls

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Attack / Grab	Press B to attack. If done in front of an object, Mighty Peach will do a grab instead.
Jump Attack	Press B after jumping with A.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

Boss Battle Controls

Action
Counter	Press B in front of an enemy's attack.
Grab	Press B while in front of something you can pick up.
Swing	Press and hold B while grabbing an object. Release B to let it fly.

Mighty Peach Guide

Kung Fu Peach

Action
Jump	Press A to jump. Hold A to jump higher.
Kick	Press B. You can press B two more times after for a 3-hit combo.
Jump Kick	Press B after jumping with A.
Pillar Jump	Hold the L Stick in the direction you want to go to, then press A to jump.
Pole Attack	Press A while holding the L Stick in the direction of the pole to grab on. Kung Fu Peach will automatically rotate while sliding down. While on the pole, hold the L Stick in the direction you want to land in.
Pose	Press ZL or ZR.

How to Change Controls

Go to Options

Controls can be changed through the Options in the Main Menu, which can be found by hitting the + button. However, the only control change you can make is to swap the action and jump buttons.

The action button is set to B by default, while the jump button is set to A. If you're used to the B being the jump button, you can switch these button controls.
