Dying in Princess Peach! Showtime will bring you back to the last checkpoint you reached. But don't worry, the game provides plenty of checkpoints so it won't be too much of a hassle everytime you die.

After dying twice in a level, the game will give you the option to use the Heart Charm. This will give you three extra hearts to play with when you respawn allowing you to take more hits.

When you die a couple of times in a level, the game will also give you the option to spend all your coins obtained within the level to complete it. The prompt appears after dying about 5 times.

For every death, 10 coins are deducted from the coins you collected within the level as a penalty. Dying with zero coins will still bring you back to the last checkpoint and your coins will stay at zero.

After dying multiple times with zero coins, you will be given the option to complete the level for free.

Sparkle Gems you obtain before you die still count as being collected. Collecting the same Sparkle Gems after dying will give you 10 coins instead.
