Being stuck in a game is normal and pretty common when you're playing metroidvanias. Being stuck in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is no different.
Here are things you can do when stuck:

Guided Mode is an available option when playing the game. It will grant you a marker that shows where to go next on your main quests.
If you have chosen Exploration Mode, you may turn on Guided Mode at any time during the game by going to the Settings screen.

Map Pieces will reveal the map of a specific location. These can be found in chests or from Fariba for 50 Time Crystals each.
It is strongly recommended to get Map Pieces to assist in exploration, preventing the risk of getting lost.

In The Haven, Fariba can offer you hints for 30 Time Crystals. She will give vague hints on to do next on your journey. The hints are not direct to the point but they can be really helpful when doing Exploration Mode.
The Mage, The Shopkeeper Guide

A unique feature in the game are Memory Shards. Use them any time by pressing the down button. It will then take a quick capture of your screen and save it automatically on your map.
Bear in mind that Memory Shards are limited and can be depleted so use these wisely.

You can put also place pints on your map or use Memory Shards to remind you what the room contains. This is helpful when advancing on to the next main quests where it can then be accessible.
Once lost in any main quest, it is advisable to go back to these marked areas most especially when you gain new time powers.

Sometimes, you will find an area that you can't reach or has a certain solution. Return to areas that you marked with Memory Shards or pins to explore more of the map.
Mount Qaf is huge and it is easy to get lost in other areas you aren't supposed to be in yet, so always keep in mind that retracing your steps isn't a bad idea.
