Parrying in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown can be done by pressing your parry button just before an attack hits. Read on to learn how to parry, the advantages of parrying, what unstoppable attacks are, how vengeful counters work, and other parrying tips.
List of Contents
A blue ring indicator will appear around Sargon if the parry attempt is successful.
Parrying has many advantages such as nullifying damage, staggering enemies, not repositioning Sargon, and allowing Sargon to do a Vengeful Counter.
When a successful parry hits, Sargon will not take any damage from that attack and will allow him to continue a combo string without being interrupted.
An additional effect of a successful parry is that it staggers the enemy's attack, allowing you a brief window where the enemy cannot react.
Parrying has advantages over dodging an attack as it does not reposition Sargon, allowing you to follow-up with a string of attacks in quick succession.
Enemies in the game will sometimes have a glowing yellow indicator denoting the enemy is attempting a Reckless Attack. They are open to a special parry called Vengeful Counters.
Vengeful Counters allow Sargon to parry a Reckless Attack and counter with a devastating strike to deal high damage to the enemy.
Master parrying by studying enemy behaviors and learning that unstoppable attacks cannot be parried.
Each enemy in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has unique attack animations and have different timing windows.
Mastering the ability to parry requires the player to carefully study the enemy's animations through trial and error.
Unstoppable Attacks can be denoted by the flashing red indicator that appears when an enemy is winding up an attack. These are the only attacks in the game that cannot be parried.
These attacks will go through your parry and deal significant damage, so it is recommended to dodge instead.
