All Sand Jars Locations

Sand Jar 1 - The Catacombs

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in The Catacombs located in The Depths located west of the Sand Prison.

To access this area, you'll need to activate any Wak-Wak Tree in The Catacombs so that the Tree Spirit Kalux will accompany and provide you light as you traverse the Catacombs.

Sand Jar 2 - The Depths

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located in a hidden alcove in western side of The Depths due left of where Sargon fell during the end of the Lost in Mount Qaf story quest.

This area is only accessible after completing The Tiger and The Rat story quest and receiving the Shadow of the Simurgh time power.

Sand Jar 3 - Hycranian Forest

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located in a small alcove below the starting area of the Hycranian Forest.

You'll need to defeat the boss of the area, Erlik, to access this Sand Jar since you can only get to the alcove by using the Rush of Simurgh time power.

Sand Jar 4 - Soma Tree

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in the northernmost section of the Soma Tree located directly above the area where you fight Kiana, The Forest Queen during The Path of the Sand Prison story quest.

You'll need to defeat her and gain the Dimensional Claw time power to access the area where the Sand Jar is located.

Sand Jar 5 - Lower City

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in the Lower City by accessing the passageway in the starting area.

To access the lower section, you'll need to use your Dimensional Claw time power to grab an exploding enemy or attack to break the wall.

Sand Jar 6 - Pit of Eternal Sands

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in the Pit of Eternal Sands which is accessed after obtaining the Clairvoyance and Dimensional Claw time powers and as soon as you start The Darkest of Souls side quest.

The Sand Jar is located in a hidden wall in the area above the second Wak-Wak Tree and is also the third location where you'll need to rescue the Moon Gatherer.

Sand Jar 7 - Sunken Harbor

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in the western side of the Sunken Harbor in the large vertical area with a floating platforms that you can use to wall jump to the top.

This Sand Jar is only accessible after receiving the the Gravity Wings Tiime Power after defeating Azhdaha in the Pit of Eternal Sands at the conclusion of The Darkest of Souls story quest.

Sand Jar 8 - Sunken Harbor

Map Location	Overworld Location

Another Sand Jar is located in the central area of the Sunken Harbor in the area above the second Wak-Wak Tree.

You'll need to use your Bow and Chakram to activate the pulley system and simply break the wooden wall covering the small alcove to get the Sand Jar.

Sand Jar 9 - Soma Tree

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located in the large central area in the Soma Tree where you fought Kiana, the Forest Queen during The Path to the Sand Prison.

Head northwest of the large Wak-Wak Tree and the wolf Chamrosh. You'll need to use the Gravity Wings time power to reach the small vertical pathway and to get the Sand Jar.

Sand Jar 10 - Lower City

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located southwest of the ruined fresco where you start the side quest in a large room with flying enemies.

To access this area, you'll need obtain the upgrade for the Shadow of the Simurgh time power by defeating Menolias in the Upper City during The Celestial Guardians story quest.

To access this lower area, you'll need to shoot the Bow and Chakram through the metal gates, then use the Shadow of the Simurgh power to pass through the area.

Sand Jar 11 - Upper City

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located in the north eastern section of the Upper City in an area above the location with the large moving platforms. This requires the upgrade to the Shadow of the Simurgh time power by defeating Menolias.

To access this upper area, you'll need to shoot the Bow and Chakram upwards while riding the top platform to reach the area, then use Shadow of the Simurgh to teleport to the chakram's location.

Sand Jar 12 - Raging Sea

Map Location	Overworld Location

A Sand Jar is located in the central area of Raging Sea within a time-stopped ship. This requires the upgrade to the Shadow of the Simurgh time power by defeating Menolias.

To get to the Sand Jar, you'll need to use the giant jellyfish in the area as platforms. Once on top of the jellyfish, aim your bow and shoot the chakram into the area, and then use the Shadow of the Simurgh time power to teleport to the location.

Sand Jar 13 - Tower of Silence

Map Location	Overworld Location

You can find a Sand Jar in the Tower of Silence in the central open area with falling ice boulders, and is the same area where you find the Moon Gatherer's last location.

To get the Sand Jar, you'll need to use the Shadow of the Simurgh time power to place an impression close to the Sand Jar.

Next, pull the moveable block using Fabric of Time to the right then quickly use Shadow of the Simurgh again to return to your original position to access the Sand Jar.

Tower of Silence Map Guide

Sand Jar 14 - Tower of Silence

Map Location	Overworld Location

A second Sand Jar is located in the upper section southwest of the fast travel point in the Tower of Silence.

To get to this area, you'll need to use the upgraded Chakram to launch yourself upwards with Shadow of the Simurgh, then simply wall jump towards the small alcove where the Sand Jar is located.

Prophecy of Mount Qaf Walkthrough Guide

1. Interact with the Ruined Fresco
2. Return 5 Sand Jars for a Soma Petal

Interact with the Ruined Fresco

Head southwest and into a small chamber where you'll see a Ruined Fresco. Interact with it to start the Prophecy of Mount Qaf side quest which requires you to find all Sand Jars throughout Mount Qaf.

Make sure to grab the Arslân's Glory Amulet that drops from the fresco after starting the quest.

Requires Progressing Through the Game

Most of the Sand Jars that you need to complete the fresco are locked behind story progression since some require Time Powers to access.

Return 5 Sand Jars for a Soma Petal

After retrieving 5 Sand Jars, return and interact with the ruined fresco to receive a Soma Petal as a reward, and also completes the first part of the prophecy.

Return 5 More Sand Jars for a Holy Fire Amulet

Returning an additional 5 Sand Jars will reward you with the Holy Fire Amulet after interacting with the ruined fresco.
