You do not need to play the earlier iterations of Prince of Persia to understand the story of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Read ahead to learn why you can skip the older games and more!
The Unnamed Prince and Sargon from The Lost Crown
The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a spin-off from the original series and is the 3rd reboot of the franchise.
Hence, you can play through The Lost Crown without needing to have played older Prince of Persia games and still understand the story.
While the more recent iterations of Prince of Persia are tagged with the “Action” genre, the original game is actually a side-scrolling puzzle-platformer.
So this new Metroidvania-styled game is actually more faithful to the original Prince of Persia games when compared to more recent titles.
