Crunch with Red Soldier Ant Buggy
To remove Dead Roots in Grounded 2, you'll need a Red Soldier Ant Buggy to Crunch them. First, mount your Buggy. Then, approach the dead root you wish to destroy.
Once you are in proximity of the dead root, a prompt to Crunch it will appear. Press the crunch button (E/RT) for your mount to start gnawing until all the dead root blocking your path has been cleared.
Only a Red Soldier Ant Buggy can crunch dead roots, an Orb Weaver Buggy cannot.
Complete Egg Hunt Story Quest to Get a Red Soldier Ant Buggy
Completing the Egg Hunt story quest will net you a Red Soldier Ant Buggy by hatching a Red Soldier Ant egg as part of a series of objectives of the questline. After the quest, you can start using it as a mount to explore and destroy dead roots.
