How to Get a Red Soldier Ant
Hatch a Red Soldier Ant Egg
You can get a Red Soldier Ant by hatching a Red Soldier Ant Egg in the Hatchery. Red Soldier Ant Eggs can be found in ant hills, but for a more guided approach, you can progress the story questline until Egg Hunt story quest, which has retrieving a Soldier Ant Egg as its main objective.
How to Retrieve a Red Soldier Ant Egg
Place Egg in the Hatchery
To hatch an egg, you first have to build a Hatchery using Weed Stems, Acorn Tops, Acorn Shells, and Mite Fuzz. You then have to incubate the Soldier Ant Egg in the Hatchery, which costs Grub Hides, Sprigs, and Acorn Shells.
The egg will take 12 in-game hours to hatch, so feel free to do other activities or sleep to pass the time faster.

You can use red soldier ants for traversal, cutting rooted pathways, and for combat. Additionally, instead of an Omni Axe, ants can chop stems for you to gather resources. You can also store up to 12 grass planks on the red soldier ant while you traverse.
