Fighter Class Overview

Specialization Balanced Melee
Armor Bonus Melee attacks generate more threat.

The Fighter class is your standard melee combatant, using heavy armor to deal and absorb damage. You can either choose a one-handed weapon with a shield for a balanced Fighter build, or go full tank with a two-handed heavy weapon. The latter will let you deal more damage but has slower attacks and reduced stamina regeneration.

The Fighter is typically the default class if you're still unsure of your playstyle. It's a good starting point to experiment with different weapons and armor until you find what suits you best.

Rogue Class Overview

Specialization Critical Hits, Melee Combos
Armor Bonus The final hit in your 3-hit combo has increased crit chance.

The Rogue class is recommended for fast-paced players who want non-stop combat. Equipped with two-handed daggers, this class focuses on dealing critical hits, melee combos, and stunning enemies. The class' reduced stamina cost also allows you to dodge more frequently.

While the Rogue may seem like an all-rounder, don't be fooled. Unlocking this class' full potential requires getting the right armor and being more technical with your attacks.

Best Rogue Build

Ranger Class Overview

Specialization Ranged
Armor Bonus Increased damage dealt to enemy weak points.

The Ranger is your classic ranged fighter, usually wielding a bow and arrow or sometimes a javelin to offer combat support from a distance. You just need to have a steady supply of Mite Fuzz and Thistle Needle to craft arrows, which can also be laced with elemental effects to maximize your damage.

Best Ranger Build

Mage Class Overview

Specialization Ranged, Elemental Damage
Armor Bonus Attacks with staff use less stamina.

For the first time in Grounded, a spellcaster build is possible with the Mage class. Using a staff, the Mage casts elemental ranged attacks like Spicy, Fresh, and Sour. This is the most complex class among the four, as you will need to be resourceful in gathering the elementals needed.

How to Select Your Class

Determined by Equipment and Mutations

Grounded 2 Class Label Equipment

You don't really select a class in Grounded 2, but rather, you specialize by equipping weapons, armor, and Mutations that are labeled to the class that you desire.

With that said, you don't necessarily need to lock yourself in a specific build. You can mix and match different equipment and Mutations to suit your preferred playstyle.
