There are several edible resources you can easily find and gather throughout Grounded 2. You can eat them raw as snacks for a quick hunger fix when you're in a tough spot. However, they are much more effective at significantly reducing your Hunger when cooked.
To cook them, you'll need a Roasting Spit. You can unlock its recipe by analyzing either a Sprig or a Dry Grass Chunk at a Resource Analyzer. Once you've learned the recipe, crafting a Roasting Spit will require 4 Pebblet, 4 Sprig, and 3 Dry Grass Chunk.
Just a heads-up, even cooked food won't last forever. It can spoil after a while, and you'll see a little clock icon next to it in your inventory.

For some easy food you can grab early on, try making Grub Roast, Aphid Roast, and Weevil Roast. You'll get the necessary meat from non-hostile critters like Grubs (which drop Grub Hides), Aphids (Aphil Meat), and Weevils (Weevil Meat).

When you really need to fill your hunger gauge immediately and can't use a Roasting Spit or don't have any cooked food in your inventory, you can always munch on Mushrooms instead.

You'll also find some handy snacks in various Ominent bases. Keep an eye out for Grumble's Granola Bars; they're great for significantly restoring both your health and hunger.

Eating regularly keeps your Hunger gauge filled. Depleting your hunger gauge completely will give you a critical 2-minute window to consume food. Failure to eat within this time will result in death.
Maintaining a sufficient hunger level is vital for combat effectiveness. If your hunger gauge falls too low, your maximum stamina regeneration will be halved, severely limiting your actions.
Certain food offers temporary buffs, providing beneficial effects to your character, such as increasing stats, decreasing damage, and regen.
Conversely, consuming spoiled or rotten food will inflict temporary negative effects such as draining your HP, hindering your performance.
