How to Use the Wind Waker

Use Control Sticks to Conduct Songs

Using Wind Waker

The Wind Waker is used to conduct songs which have a variety of effects. A meter will show up on the top of the screen as Link plays a song.

You can use your controller's control sticks to perform songs. The left stick is used to determine the time signature of your conduction while the right stick or C-Stick for the Gamecube controller is used play notes.

Wind's Requiem Left Stick:

Changes the direction of the wind.
Learned at Dragon Roost Island.
Song of Passing Left Stick:

Changes the time of day. Learned from Tott on Windfall Island.
Ballad of Gales Left Stick:

Allows Link to fast travel between islands with cyclones. Learned from Cyclos after shooting him with your Bow.
Command Melody Left Stick:
Play in 4/4 (Tilt to the left)

Allows Link to control statues in dungeons. Learned at the Tower of the Gods.
Earth God's Lyric Left Stick:
Play in 6/4 (Tilt to the right)
Right Stick:

Used to destroy boulders inside the Earth Temple. Link learns about the song with Medli and Laruto at the Earth Temple.
Wind God's Aria Left Stick:
Play in 6/4 (Tilt to the right)
Right Stick:
↑, ↑, ↓, →, ←, →
Used to destroy boulders inside the Wind Temple. Learned with Makar at the Wind Temple.

Link will learn various songs as you go through the game, with each one having different effects. Do note that Link cannot perform a song if he has not learned it yet, even if you know the button combinations for it.
