All Bait Items and Where to Find Them

Item Details
All-Purpose BaitAll-Purpose Bait Animals will be drawn to this gourmet pet food the moment you put it down. (It has three portions.)
Where to Find:
Purchase from Beedle or from a Rat for 30 Rupees.
Hyoi PearHyoi Pear This special bait allows you to take control of seagulls!
Where to Find:
Purchase from Beedle or from a Rat for 10 Rupees.

You can use bait items to lure animals on the overworld.

How to Get Bait Bag

Purchase from Beedle for 20 Rupees

Getting the Bait Bag

You can purchase the Bait Bag from Beedle's Shop Ship in Outset Island for 20 Rupees. You can obtain Rupees early in the game by exploring the island.

Where to Buy Bait

Purchase from Beedle or Rat NPC

Baits from Beedle

Beedle is selling both the All-Purpose Bait and Hyoi Pear inside his Shop Ship for 10 and 30 Rupees respectively. Rat NPCs will also sell these items once you bait them out of their holes.

How to Use Bait

Equip to Lure Animals

Using Bait

All-Purpose Baits and Hyoi Pears are used to lure animals found across The Great Sea. These will help you in various ways, such as get items or reach places you can't reach with seagulls.

In your inventory, equip a bait to your X, Y, Z, or R for non-GameCube controllers then press the button to use the bait.

Used to Attract Fishmen

Fishman Tips

Baits can also be used to lure Fishmen while sailing across The Great Sea. Doing so will paint their section of the map on your Sea Chart and give you tips about nearby places.
