Shear Sheep or Kill Them

You can get Wool Scraps by shearing sheep or killing them. Shears is a tool that can be crafted at a Farmer's Workbench. Sheep spawn in the grassy fields of the starting region, making it easy to find them. Only adult sheep can drop and be sheared, so try to spare the kid and wait for it to grow up.

You can try to cage and shear them for an unlimited source of Wool Scraps, but there's a chance of them despawning in the current version if you get too far from your base.
