How to Fight Ethereal (Iris' Greatest Fear)

How to Fight

You can encounter this fight during the Hearts of Stone Main Quest: Scenes From a Marriage. This fight can be done in two ways, fight them one by one, or fight them all at once.

The best way to do this is to fight them one by one. Ethereal fights very similarly to Olgierd Von Everec. Every clone will have more moves than the previous clone and each clone will stay idle unless they take damage. The trick to this fight is to only use the Quen Sign to protect yourself and rely on counterattacking Ethereal to deal damage.

If you want to deal with all of the 6 clones at the same time, it is very important that you have the Whirl skill to simultaneously deal damage to all of them. Doing it this way is significantly harder than the previous way but, it can end the fight significantly faster if you have the damage needed.

In order to do this cast the Quen Sign for extra protection from their attacks and wake the clones up one by one. After all of them have woken up, start using the Whirl skill or throwing a lot of bombs to damage all of the clones at the same time.

What Preparations to Make?

You should use your Silver Sword and coat it with Specter oil to deal bonus damage to them. Prepare bombs that deal a lot of damage to multiple enemies like the Grapeshot Bomb, Dragon's Dream Bomb, and the Dancing Star Bomb.
