Having the ability to fully deflect or possibly parry then reflect arrows is extremely useful. Not only is this skill very cheap and easy to get, you will never have to worry about combat scenarios with Crossbowmen.

IMO it's worth taking just the first level, to defend against archers when tackling human enemies. While the ability to reflect arrows back at the archer is cool, you won't be able to do so in the heat of battle. If the enemy has been thinned out sufficiently for you to be able to do this, you can also close in on the archer and finish him off at melee range.
