With newly-introduced sports come those that did not make the cut and therefore cannot be played in Nintendo Switch Sports.
Notably, boxing and baseball, which are classic sports from Wii Sports, are not in the Switch sequel. Aquatic sports that were introduced in Wii Sports Resort are also missing from the game.
Golf, being an exception, is a sport that is not included at launch, but will be added in a future update.
In previous games, the characters you play as are based from Miis that you have created in your console.
In Nintendo Switch Sports, you can now play as the newly-introduced Sportsmates, whose appearance and clothing can be changed freely.
You can obtain more clothing options by playing online and earning points to unlock outfits!
If you prefer playing as Miis, fret not! You can still play the game using Miis that you can create on your Nintendo Switch system.
You can select and play as any of the Miis that you have saved in your console, and freely switch back to playing as Sportsmates.
Stamps in Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports Club act as unlockables that are obtained after performing specific actions while playing any given sport in the games. These stand as achievements attained by the player while they are playing a particular sport.
In Nintendo Switch Sports, Stamps now act as emotes that players can use and display while in the middle of a match. These Stamps are unlocked by playing online and earning points.
The Club feature introduced in Wii Sports Club for the Wii U is not available in Nintendo Switch Sports, and no replacement for it has been added.
Clubs were a group feature in Wii Sports Club wherein you can join a group and play against your fellow members of the club. It was also possible to play against other clubs.
However, you can still play with other players online, albeit via random matchmaking. Additionally, you can also still play with your friends locally or online.
