Balls will bounce slower when playing in the clay court, which will make backspins less effective as your opponent has more time to react to the ball changing directions.
As rallies tend to last longer in clay courts, most players are expecting to receive the ball at the baseline near the edge of the court.
You can catch your opponents off guard by employing lobs and weak returns in your rallies, as this will surprise them by sending the ball near the net.
Since balls slow down after bouncing, it is easier for the front player in your side of the court to receive attacks.
If you have been rallying with your rear player, speed up the rally a bit by attacking with your front player.
Since rallies can go on for a long time when playing at clay courts, your opponent will try to send their shots on both sides of the field in order to tire you out. Try to regain stamina with lob shots to give yourself time to recover.
Conversely, you can also try to tire your opponent by doing the same!
If you play a tennis match, the court you will play on will be chosen at random, regardless if you play locally or online.
If you are playing locally and would like to play at this court, you can start and quit the match until you get it.
Local and Online Multiplayer Features
The tennis ball will bounce high and slow down once it lands on the ground when playing tennis on the clay court. This will give either player more time to receive the ball.
Since the ball slows down and bounces higher in clay courts, it is easier to receive the ball from the opposing side which will help prolong rallies.
If you are playing online and managed to get the clay court in your match, it is a good idea to take advantage of this and try to maintain long rallies with your opponent. Participating in long rallies will grant you a x1.1 point bonus after the match!
