Do You Need the Leg Strap?

Required to Play Soccer Shoot-Out Mode

Currently, the Leg Strap is only used in Shoot-Out mode, which is a separate game mode from regular soccer matches. However, compatibilty with soccer matches will be coming in a future update.

Soccer Controls and Tips

Added in soccer matches in summer of 2022

An update is coming this summer that will make it compatible with Soccer matches as well. However, a specific date for release has not yet been announced.

How to Attach the Leg Strap Accessory

Insert the Joy-Con Controller and Attach to Your Leg

To use the Leg Strap accessory, insert your left Joy-Con controller into the elastic pocket and attach it to the thigh of your dominant leg using the velcro strips. Stand still for a moment for the game to detect the accessory.

You can set which leg is dominant in the User Settings of the game.

Where to Buy the Leg Strap Accessory

Included with the Physical Version

The Leg Strap accessory is included with the physical version of the game, which is currently available for pre-order. However, each copy the game only includes one accessory, so if you need more than one, you will need to purchase them separately.

Nintendo Switch Sports Release Date and Editions

Sold Separately for the Digital Version

The Digital version of Nintendo Switch Sports does not include a Leg Strap accessory, so it needs to be purchased separately. Some retailers have the accessory available for pre-order with a few pre-order bonuses.

Nintendo Switch Sports Pre-Order Bonuses

Also Available in Ring Fit Adventure

A similar Leg Strap accessory is also included with another fitness game developed by Nintendo, Ring Fit Adventure. The two Leg Straps look similar and serve mostly the same functions, so it is possible that they could be used interchangably.
