How to Customize Your Sportsmate

Head to the Character Customization Screen

You can enter the character customization screen by heading to Spocco Square and selecting the Customize Icon on the bottom right corner of the screen, which appears like a clothes hanger.

In the character customization menu, you can choose the face and body type of your Sportsmate and their clothes and equipment. You can also rotate your Sportsmate to get a 360° view with the ZL and ZR buttons.

Face and Hairstyle

In the face and hairstyle option, you can change many of your Sportsmate's physical characteristics, including skin tone, eye color, hairstyle, hair color, and eyebrow shape.

Several other facial features can also be adjusted by choosing a more masculine or feminine face, changing its age, and adding facial hair, freckles, or make-up.

Outfits and Accessories

In addition to physical characteristics, you can also choose what clothes your Sportmate will wear. There are a 3 types of clothing: outfits, hats, and accessories, which include glasses and face masks.

Though you usually obtain these items through sets, you can mix and match different clothes to fit your preferred style. Make sure to share with your fashionable creations in our fashion board!

Body Type

There are several body options to choose from in the game, aside from the standard human body. At the moment, the only one that's been revealed is the Squirrel body type shown in some trailers.

Similar to faces, there are currently no are male or female body types for sportsmates. You can opt for a male or female character by simply choosing masculine or feminine features and clothing.

Miis Can Be Used as Sportsmates!

Aside from customizing your Sportsmate, players can also choose to use their Miis as in-game avatars! Miis were first introduced in Wii Sports and is also present in this game.
How to Create and Use Miis

Title and Name

You can customize your Sportsmate's name in the bottom text field, and you can also choose the title displayed before their name. You can choose up to 2 titles from the available list.

Stamps

In addition to customizing your character's clothes and appearance, you can also set up your available Stamps. Stamps are emotes that can be used to interact with other players in multiplayer matches. You can only carry up to 4 Stamps at a time.

Equipment

Lastly, you can choose the equipment that your Sportsmate will use in each sport. This is usually the ball, racket, or sword of the respective sport, except in soccer. For soccer, you choose the type of animation that is played when you score a goal.

Take note that all equipment in the game is currently purely cosmetic and does not affect gameplay.

Earn Points Online to Redeem Gifts

You can unlock more body customization options by playing different sports in online multiplayer. Doing so allows you to earn points, which you can use to redeem gifts from the Items menu in Spocco Square.
