When is Golf Coming to Switch Sports?

Golf will be added in Fall of 2022 as part of a free software update for Nintendo Switch Sports. However, a specific date of release has not yet been announced.

Announced During February 2022 Nintendo Direct

Golf was announced to be added as a free update in the game at the same time Nintendo Switch Sports was announced. A trailer was shown during a Nintendo Direct livestream that was held last February 10, 2022.

Not Included at Launch

Even if it was announced along with the other sports in the game, Golf is not a playable sport during Nintendo Switch Sports launch.

Six sports are available to be played after the game was released.

Possible Golf Gameplay

May Play Similar to Wii Sports Golf

Golf was one of the sports released in the original Wii Sports back in 2006. It is possible that some of the controls and mechanics of the previous game in the franchise could carry over to Switch Sports.

In Wii Sports, button controls were used to switch clubs and aim your shot while also accounting for wind, elevation, and other factors. When ready, you would swing your Wii controller to set the power and make your shot. Like in actual golf, the goal is to get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible.
