Helldivers 2 - Shoot Hive Guard

The Hive Guards have heavy armor, but this only applies to their front: the head and front legs. The other parts of their body have no armor and are vulnerable to any type of damage. This applies to its back parts, including its underside when it decides to stand upright.

A Hive Guard should die after a decent amount of regular bullets to the back. Hit it when it is distracted facing another ally.

It's possible to damage a Hive Guard from the front with light bullets. But you'll have to aim between the small gaps between the head and the legs.

When you do this, the Hive Guard will do its special move of hunkering down to shield these parts. It will become immobile for some time when it does this, which should give you an opportunity to run to a better position to target its backside.

Shoot Head or Legs with Anti-Armor Weapons

The Hive Guard's armor is tough, but it can be countered with weapons designed to destroy heavy armor, like the Railgun or Recoilless Rifle.

Shoot the armor from the front with the anti-armor weapon to destroy the armor, then if the Hive Guard is still alive, shoot the exposed body part with regular bullets.
