How to Complete Escort Missions

Escort Scientists to Evacuation Shuttle

The primary objective for this mission is to escort the scientists on the planet safely to the evacuation shuttles. As you escort the scientists, swarms of Automatons or Terminids will spawn on the planet which you'll have to defeat.

Upon escorting the required number of scientists, you will then need to hold off any enemies while waiting for your team's extraction shuttle to complete this mission.

Amount of Scientists Needed Depends on Mission Type

The amount of scientists needed to be escorted will depend on your difficulty setting and which enemy type you're facing. On Medium difficulty, the Automaton version of this mission requires 30 scientists while you will need just 20 scientists in the Terminid version.

For harder difficulties such as Helldive, this number is significantly increased as you will need to escort 60 scientists.

Choose a Landing Spot Far From the Objective

With the sheer amount of enemies that can be spawned, it would be best if your team begins the mission as far away from the objective as possible. This makes escorting the scientists easier since you can direct the enemy's attention away from the objective and towards your team.

Keep in mind that the main objective is to get the scientists out and defeating the Automatons is just a complication that comes with it.

Designate a Player to Retrieve Scientists

Once your team has started fighting the Automatons, have your designated teammate start retrieving the scientists. We recommend that this player be equipped with armor that has the Scout passive as this lets you monitor the map with radar scans while also reducing the range enemies can detect you.

Select a Teammate to Spawn Scientists

Should escorting scientists prove to be too difficult, an alternative solution would be to select a teammate to spawn scientists from the buildings while the rest of the team provides cover fire. This ensures that there are scientists constantly being spawned while most of your firepower is focused on fending off enemies.

Do note that players will need to interact with the door to let the scientists/citizens out. They only come out one by one and there will be times that you will need to press the button again.
