Helldivers 2 has limited character customization options. All the Helldivers are fully-armored so there's no customizing the face, skin, and most character aspects that other games have.
There are only two body types, Brawny and Lean, and they are both unlocked by default. Choosing either body type has no impact on gameplay.
There are four voice packs as of writing, all unlocked by default. There is a fifth choice, the Randomize Voice, which picks a different voice for every Helldiver you use.
The current four voice packs have the Default label, which implies that other voice packs might be introduced in the future.
The only emote unlocked by default is the Casual Salute emote. But you can purchase and unlock new ones in the Warbonds.
You can only have one emote equipped at a time. You can use an emote by pressing the Emote button in your platform; by default, this is the B button for PC and left D-pad in the PS5.
The only emote unlocked by default is the Clapping emote. But you can purchase and unlock new ones in the Warbonds.
The victory pose is the character animation that plays after you successfully finish a mission. There is a Random option that picks a random victory pose from your collection.
The player card is the background behind the player character that appears during certain moments, such as during mission preparation and completion screen.
The title is the rank that appears under a player's name and beside their level. Players will unlock a title every five levels.
All Title Level Unlocks
The Armor is the equipment worn by the Helldivers on their body. There are three types of Armor: Light Armor, Medium Armor, and Heavy Armor.
By default, you'll have four variations of the B-01 Tactical Medium Armor.
Best Armor Sets and How to Get
The Helmet is the equipment worn by Helldivers on their head. Most helmets have the same stats and no armor passive, but there are a couple of exceptions to this.
By default, you'll have four variations of the B-01 Tactical Helmet.
The Cape is the cloth worn by Helldivers on their back. As of writing, all capes have the same stats and no armor passive.
The only default cape available is the Foesmasher cape.
You'll be able to customize your character as soon as you finish the tutorial and get access to the ship. Go to the Armory screens at the middle of the ship, then go to the Character tab to change your character loadout, and to the Armory tab to change your armor.
