Is the Recoilless Rifle Worth It?

Once you reach Level 5, the Recoilless Rifle is a decent weapon against Elite Enemies you can encounter on harder difficulties. But as soon as you gain access to better stratagems, you have better chances of survival if you replace this with a different support stratagem.

How to Unlock Recoilless Rifle

Available after Reaching Level 5

Recoilless Rifle can be unlocked for purchase after reaching level 5. You can buy this Stratagem for 6000 Requisition Slips in the Ship Management console located inside your ship.

How to Use Recoilless Rifle

Throw and Equip

The Recoilless Rifle can be called in the form of a supply drop. Throw the Stratagem in a location where you can pick up the supply—preferably close to you. Once the supply drops, interact with it to obtain and equip the Recoilless Rifle.

Requires 2 People to Reload Quickly

The Recoilless Rifle Stratagem comes with a Backpack with ammo. Carrying the backpack lets you reload it on your own. However, it takes a long time to reload yourself, so it's best to have another player carry the backpack and reload the rifle. While it does offer high offensive damage, this drawback makes it an impractical weapon when playing solo.
