Dies to Any Single Shot

The Scavenger is the weakest Terminid enemy in the game. They are slow, deal little damage, and will die to any single shot from any gun. A couple of melee attacks will also kill a Scavenger.

Since they die to any shot from the game, try to use your weakest weapon when attacking them, so you don't waste your ammo that you could use against stronger opponents.

Use AoE Attacks to Clear Swarm

You will usually encounter Scavengers in swarms. If you encounter a group and are about to be overwhelmed, use AoE damage such as a grenade to clear the swarm. Any Scavenger should die in one hit.

All Scavenger Variations

Standard Scavenger

The standard Scavenger is colored orange. It only has melee attacks, walks slowly, and has no special abilities aside from the standard ability of calling other Terminids to its location.

Bile Spitter

The Bile Spitter is a variant of the Scavenger that has a ranged attack: spitting acid. You'll recognize this variant with its green coloration.
