Complete Missions

Helldivers 2 - Completing Missions

Medals are primarily earned as rewards from completing missions. The amount of medals you receive will depend on the difficulty of your mission, with lower difficulties giving as low as one medal while more difficult missions reward up to 18 medals.

Participate in Major Orders

Major Orders are timed events where players can receive a decent amount of medals just by participating in the objective. Unlike Personal Orders, the objectives are usually on a larger scale and requires the help of most of the playerbase.

To be able to receive medals from Major Orders, simply take part in the objective as specified in-game. Rewards will be distributed once the timer for the Major Order is finished.

How to Get Major Order Reward

Play on Higher Difficulty Settings

Helldivers 2 - An Automaton Enemy

For players up to the challenge, completing missions on the higher difficulties such as Suicide Mission or Helldive can garner you more medals as compared to easier missions. These missions can get quite difficult so it would be best to team up with friends before taking them on.

Difficulty Levels Differences

Complete Personal Order Challenges

Helldivers 2 - Earn Medals from Personal Orders

Personal Order challenges, which are essentially daily missions given by the game, lets players earn 15 medals upon completion. These orders will change once the timer on them expires, allowing players to earn more Medals once a new order is available.

Take On Eradication Missions

Helldivers 2 - Evacuating Civilians

Eradication missions requires players to kill a specific amount of enemies within the time provided. Since these tend to be shorter than usual missions, players can take on these missions types as a quick and efficient method of earning medals.

Medals Have a Cap of 250

Helldivers 2 - Medal Cap

It's important to note that Medals are capped at 250 and you won't be able to earn more than that amount. If you're about to reach the cap, make sure to spend your Medals on Warbond items, so as not to waste any excess medals that you'll earn while playing!
